Covid and Wildlife

Following on my earlier posts in January and February about the human-wildlife connection of Covid-19, this link accesses a half hour radio interview that Dr. Nicole Walrath and I did about the subject. It aired on Tuesday, March 15th. Bottom line: Covid- 19 originated in wildlife and infected humans in China and subsequently became a worldwide pandemic. Now that we’ve documented SARS-CoV-2 virus spilling from humans into various species of captive and wild animals, what does that mean for human health? Could new strains of SARS-CoV-2 that develop in white-tailed deer, for example, spill back to humans?

We shouldn’t write off Covid-19 as yesterday’s news just yet.
