Besides a healthful pursuit that connects us to nature, bird watching is also an economic driver. Some 96 million Americans are birders, according to the 2022 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife-Associated Recreation. And those birders spent over $100 billion on birding trips, equipment, nest boxes, and backyard feeders, like this holiday-themed one in my backyard.
