As the climate of the Rocky Mountains warms, bumblebee inhabitants of lower elevations are shifting their ranges into the alpine zone--presumably to escape warming temperatures below. At the same time, the only two species found in the alpine 50-60 years ago are in decline, a new study in Global Change Biology reports. What does this portend for these fuzzy pandas of the bee world and the plants they pollinate?
